Campervan Hobbies: How Our Owners Make the Most of Life on the Road

One of the best parts about owning a campervan is how it fits around you.
Whether your idea of bliss is cycling through the countryside, painting the view, or simply curling up with a good book, campervan life gives you the freedom to enjoy your hobbies — wherever the road takes you.
For some, it’s the thrill of the journey itself. For others, it’s about finding that peaceful spot to slow down and do what they love.
Here’s how some of our Orange Family make the most of their favourite campervan hobbies.

Cycling across France: Judith’s Tour de France adventure
Judith and Paul’s summer road trip in their MWB Pop Top Trouvaille was the ultimate cycling getaway.
Following the Tour de France for 18 nights, they covered hundreds of miles, stayed in a mix of roadside stops, campsites, and even a few cheeky hotels along the way!
Their trusty 'van, Leo, was the perfect base for exploring the routes and soaking up the atmosphere of the race.
Now back on home soil, their adventure reminds us just how perfectly a campervan pairs with life on two wheels.

Football fever: a family trip to the Euros
For John and Lorraine McCusker, their campervan hobby is all about following their love of football — and their Micro Camper made it all possible.
After first spotting the 'van at the Edinburgh show, they took it on the trip of a lifetime to Germany for the Euros 2024, joined by their two sons. Yes, four people in one Micro Camper! The boys slept up top, Mum and Dad down below — cosy, chaotic, and full of laughs.
“The trip was amazing! We met loads of nationalities and saw incredible places,” John told us. “Even if the Scotland team wasn’t that good!”
Painting the great outdoors: Lea Threlfall’s story
When most people picture campervan hobbies, they think of walks, barbecues, and beach stops — but for Orange Family member Lea Threlfall, her MWB Pop Top Trouvaille has become a mobile art studio!
Lea’s spent the year travelling to painting holidays and workshops in Cockermouth, Dartmoor and beyond, setting up her easel beside the 'van to capture each view.
She’s even used her 'van to take her artwork to Hopton Hall’s “Month of Art” — painting the landscape until sundown with, as she admits, “a few glasses of wine to help the inspiration flow!”
“The van has been a fantastic addition to my painting life,” Lea told us. “Getting out and about to take reference photos or paint from a mobile base is a dream come true. I love the van — it’s my pride and joy.”
Buzzing about beekeeping (and dog shows too!)
It’s not just art and sport that inspire our owners’ campervan hobbies.
Andrew from our owners’ group calls his Trouvaille Actif his “beekeeping van” — the perfect proof of just how versatile these ‘vans can be!
And then there’s Gill, who recently collected her brand-new dog-friendly MWB Trouvaille, complete with built-in dog crates. She’s already been hitting the road for agility shows with her four-legged crew. Talk about combining work, play and travel in one clever campervan!
A campervan made for every hobby
From cycling and painting to football, beekeeping and dog agility — there’s no end to the hobbies that fit around campervan life.
Your Orange Camper isn’t just transport; it’s a haven, a home away from home, and a space that moves with you.
Whether it’s relaxing with family, playing games with friends, or exploring new corners of the UK and beyond, your campervan is where your passions come alive.
