Job Overview
​
A Woodworking CNC Operator is responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machinery to produce precision wood components and furniture parts.
​
This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
​

Set up, programme, and operate CNC machinery for woodworking tasks, including cutting, shaping, and finishing wood components.

Full training provided

Select appropriate tools, machine settings, and raw materials for each job.

Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines and related equipment.

Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring they meet specified tolerances and standards.

Document production details and report any issues or defects to supervisors.

Comply with health and safety regulations and maintain a tidy, organised workspace.

Collaborate with colleagues, including designers, engineers, and other workshop staff, as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience operating CNC machinery within a woodworking or manufacturing environment preferred but not essential

Strong understanding of woodworking processes, materials, and finishing techniques.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures.

NVQ Level 2 or above in Carpentry, Joinery, or a related field is desirable.

Working Conditions

Workshop or factory environment with exposure to wood dust, noise, and
-
machinery. We have recently installed a silent air compressor to reduce this noise to a minimum.

Standard working hours, with occasional overtime as required.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
