We launched our latest campervan, the Trouvaille Clasique Medium-Wheel-Base, earlier in 2024.
We always strive for perfection at Orange Campers. We're never happy with the ‘standard’ – we're always looking to improve it.
So, since launching, we’ve been busy tweaking behind the scenes to make the ‘van even better!
That’s one of the great things about the demonstrator ‘van; we can really put it to the test and see what works – and what needs some tweaking.
Our first MWB is now fresh off the production line on the new Fiat Ducato Chassis so we can show you exactly all the differences from the demonstrator (which was built on the Citroen Relay).
Here’s all we’ve changed since launching…
Watch Richard show you round the updated MWB
New swivels on the seats
We’ve put some different swivels on, which allows the seats to go back that little bit further, and they can fully spin right around.
You can make the bed a bit longer as well. If you’re on the taller side (or just like that extra length!), you can make an even longer bed than before. The beds are six foot, but to adjust up to about 6ft 5 inches, you can create more space by putting your pillow on the front seat.
Deeper cupboards
We've changed the furniture a little bit and made it all even more usable.
We've made the cupboards above the sink even deeper – they now fit a full-size dinner plate inside!
These little tweaks really make such a difference to your overall ‘van experience.
All our vans look beautiful and empty, but it's not until you use them and start trying to store things that you find what works and doesn't work.
Bigger wardrobe space
And on the other side, we've brought the wardrobe out a tiny bit, so there’s even more storage space. The cupboards are now really deep, all the way to the bottom.
More air vents
We’ve installed more air vents as well. Now there is blown air heating at the front and a second outlet at the back.
Whether you opt for the diesel or gas heating option, there are now two vents to warm both areas much quicker.
Roof bed updated
One big change we’ve made is to the roof bed! We've redesigned the roof hinges to give you more bed space.
It now lifts up differently, creating a nice flat roof bed that’s not at an angle. It also has a light in there, so you can read more easily when you’re in bed.
You pull it down really easily too, with no bangs. It's a lightened board, so it's not heavy to pull down.
There's a safety net which clips up for the kids – and for added peace of mind for any adults that sleep up there as well.
There’s the option for Froli springs now, too, for added comfort.
Toilet lock improved
We’ve also made some improvements in the bathroom area.
One thing is changing how the lock works at the top of the toilet door. The door is bi-folding, making it much easier to move around. And with the new lock you can lock it in place in when open or closed – particularly handy if you’re on a slant, you don't want that falling open all the time!
Bathroom now easier to clean
We've also removed the little threshold piece of timber that was in front of the toilet so you can sweep or wipe it out much more easily.
New door material
The door cards have changed as well and look much nicer. We’ve gone for a really hard, heavy-duty vinyl.
It’s similar to what’s used on boats, so it's got a good rub wear rating, and it's nice and waterproof. So you don’t have to worry about getting them splashed or when it’s raining.
We've also put a couple of grab handles on the back doors, which make life a lot easier when you're shutting the doors.
A more vertical utility cupboard
On the back of the ‘van, we've made a change to the utility cupboard, which we hope will make it even more useful – we've turned it sideways on!
Bigger area for camping chair storage
We’ve given the back area more height to allow for bigger camping areas to fit.
We've changed this area around a little bit. You can still get all your bits and bobs in there (your hookup cable, chemical toilet, tent pegs, hammer – all the essential bits you need!), and you can get to them easily at the back of a van, which is really useful.
Coat hooks
We put some coat hooks up in the back too, so you can hang your jackets up.
We've made sure that water ingress is at a minimum so you can hang your wet jackets and boots.
In this long coat hook space, we have strap hooks so you can keep your awning bar if you have one, or tall chairs, a set of skis – whatever you fancy!
Option for hot water
We can also hot water in your van, such as a Webasto Thermo Top air and water heater, with instant hot water. Once your heat is up to temperature after a couple of minutes, it just draws off instant hot water. Both are insulated for winter and the pipes are lagged.
