Introducing our brand new fixed rear bed layout for the Trouvaille Classique MWB

This has been a long time coming, and we’re really excited to finally share it with you!
We’ve been working on this behind the scenes for a while now, listening to what people want from their ‘van and where some layouts don't work for everyone. Layout 3 is our answer to that, and it’s a big step forward for the Trouvaille Classique MWB.
This is our brand new fixed rear bed layout, built on the 5.4 metre Fiat Ducato base vehicle, and designed to give you a ready-to-use space from the moment you step inside.
This is a completely new way to experience a medium wheelbase ‘van, designed around comfort, practicality and making life that bit easier every single day.
A proper shift in how you use your ‘van
One of the things we've heard many a time is how it can be a bit of a faff to set up and put away your bed each day while out on the road. While we've designed our seats to be as easy as possible to slide into place, we understand it's still a bit of time and energy to get yourself comfy.
With Layout 3, that changes straight away. You’ve got a fixed rear bed that’s always there, always made up, and always ready to use, which completely changes the rhythm of how you use your ‘van day to day.
It means you can finish your day, climb into bed, and relax, without having to rearrange your entire space first. ☕
It’s one thing to describe it, but this is one of those layouts that really makes sense when you can actually see the space and how it all works together.
A comfortable, well thought-through sleeping space
The 6ft 5 inches x 4 ft double bed comes with a 10cm mattress, and is designed to be a lovely comfortable place to sleep for weeks at a time.
There are two reading lights, one on each side, along with a shelf above and cupboards within the bed area, so everything you need is right there without having to move around the ‘van.
The bed can be accessed from both the rear doors and from inside the ‘van, which makes it much more practical in day-to-day use.
You have also got a skylight and window above the bed to bring in natural light and fresh air, along with fitted blinds for privacy and darkness at night.
You can also add Remis cab blinds to the front screen, so the whole space feels properly enclosed and comfortable when you are settled in for the evening.
More than just a fixed bed
This isn't just a bed dropped into the back of a ‘van! It's been properly designed around, so you still get everything you would expect from a Trouvaille Classique MWB, just arranged in a way that works better for a lot of people.
The kitchen still feels generous and practical, with plenty of usable workspace, proper storage, and that familiar layout where everything is exactly where you want it to be.
You’ve got your dinette area at the front with the swivel seats, so the ‘van works just as well during the day as it does at night. A table sits between the two front seats, creating a comfortable dining space where you can sit properly and eat. It is a simple setup, but it works really well and makes the front of the ‘van feel relaxed and easy to use.
Beneath the bed, you’ve also got generous storage space, ideal for larger items, outdoor gear or anything you want to keep tucked away but easy to access.
Nothing feels squeezed in, and nothing feels like a compromise!
A great option if you travel with a dog
This layout also suits people travelling with a dog, which is something we're increasingly being asked about!
The space beneath the fixed rear bed works well for a crate or as a dedicated sleeping area, so your dog has its own place without taking over the main living space.
If you would rather keep them closer, there is still plenty of room in the main living area for a dog bed, so it is easy to make the space work for both of you.
It's one of those layouts that gives you flexibility, whether your dog prefers their own space or to be right alongside you.
A clever take on the toilet space
This is another area where Layout 3 really stands out: instead of the toilet simply being something that has to fit into the ‘van, it’s been designed to work harder as part of the overall layout.
You’ve got a full electric flush Thetford cassette toilet, but the space also doubles up as a really practical drying area, with a dedicated tray and drainage built in.
So when you come back from a walk with wet coats, muddy boots or damp towels, you’ve got somewhere proper to put them without bringing that into your main living space.
It’s one of those small details that makes a big difference when you’re actually using the ‘van.
Built around how you want to travel
This new Layout Option 3 is available on our High roof or High roof with pop top roof options.
You can opt for a high roof for maximum standing room and storage, or choose the high roof with Atek Pop Top if you would like the option of additional sleeping space without losing that open feel inside the ‘van.
It means you aren't locked into one way of using your ‘van, and you can shape it around how you actually travel, whether that is longer trips, weekends away, or something in between.
You can also choose to include a removable, crash-tested rear single seat on a track system, which gives you the option to travel with an additional passenger when needed.
It's something more people are now asking for, particularly those who want to bring a guest or the grandchildren along, and it adds another layer of flexibility without changing the overall feel of the layout.
Part of a bigger year for the MWB
And we're far from over – there's much more to come from Orange Campers!
In 2026 alone, we’ve introduced a third layout option for the MWB, alongside a third roof style – our High Roof with Atek Pop Top.
We’ve also extended our conversion warranty to five years on the Trouvaille Classique range, which reflects the confidence we have in the design, build and long-term quality of our ‘vans.
This is exactly what we mean when we talk about continuously improving what we build, always refining and developing based on how people really use their ‘vans.
