At Orange Campers, we don’t just build vans – we welcome you into the Orange Family. 🧡

From your very first phone call to the day you drive away in your brand-new camper, our friendly, hard-working team is with you every step of the way.

So, let’s introduce you to the people behind the scenes – the ones designing, crafting, fitting, and fine-tuning your van.

Watch our video introducing the team...

Richard – Company Director, Production & Innovation

Richard is our Managing Director and the heart of Orange Campers. With over 20 years of experience in campervan design and conversions, he’s well respected across the industry – though he’s too modest to admit it! You’ll often spot him in our YouTube videos and at shows, chatting to customers and sharing his knowledge.

What drives him? Seeing customers take their vans on incredible adventures – from family weekends away to epic trips across Europe.

Richard says: “I am most proud of the guys who work here and the immense pride and care they take in everything we build – and we try to build everything in-house.”

Sonya – Company Director, Sales & Marketing

Holding the whole operation together is Sonya – Richard’s wife and our co-director. She’s the organisational glue who keeps the wheels turning, managing everything from sales and marketing to scheduling, procurement and finance.

Her favourite part? Meeting customers at shows and hearing back from them once they’re off exploring in their ‘vans. As Sonya puts it: “The nicest part for me is meeting the client and then seeing the process through to the end where they get their van – and then hearing from them when they’re on their adventures and seeing how their lives have been changed by having a campervan.”

Outside of work, she loves a swim at Hathersage outdoor lido.

Jess – Office Manager

Jess, Richard’s daughter, will often be your first point of contact. Whether you’re phoning with a question, popping into the workshop, or meeting us at a show, Jess is there with a smile and a wealth of campervan know-how.

She looks after everything from customer support and sales to materials procurement and CNC operation. And when she’s not working or campervanning herself, she’s out on the golf course with her dad.

As Jess says: “It’s amazing to see the small changes to the vans taking form and transforming into a campervan. The progress and stages you see throughout it really are amazing to watch. It’s a daily job – one of the highlights.”

Sophie – Administrative Coordinator

Sophie is our behind-the-scenes superstar.

She keeps on top of the admin, ensures the office runs smoothly, and somehow manages to juggle all this while being a busy mum.

When she does get downtime, you’ll find her on a beach somewhere – her happy place.

Marc – Production Manager

Marc heads up the production side of Orange Campers. With years of experience at Swift Motorhomes, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a steady hand to the workshop. Now that he’s working close to home, he’s even got more time for DIY projects. He also owns a camper himself, so he knows first-hand just how important the little details are.

As Marc says: “Once you’ve worked in this industry, it gets into your blood. You just get a sense of pride from building something like this that you know people are gonna enjoy for a long time.”

The Workshop Crew

This is the team who bring your campervan to life – the skilled joiners and fitters who carefully craft each stage of the build.

From stripping out the base van to the final finishing touches, they’re the ones making sure everything is rock solid, practical, and beautiful.

Jordan – Campervan Fitter & CNC Operator

Jordan’s job covers it all: Your vehicle starts to transform once it gets into Jordan's hands, from fitting gas tanks to installing the furniture. Jordan has a real keen eye for detail.

When he’s not building campervans, you will most likely find him at the gym!

He says: “One of the best things about working for Orange is that everyone just gets on with the work, but they have a laugh at the same time. Everyone’s down to earth. Passion for me in the job comes from the fact that I’ve got my own camper as well. So, thinking about creating someone else’s dream – it is fulfilling for me.”

John – Bench Joiner

John brings years of experience from the Swift Group, where he worked on motorhomes before joining Orange Campers. His craftsmanship is second to none, and his skills are invaluable for designing and handcrafting our interiors. From furniture building to fine detail joinery, John is a key part of ensuring every van feels like a home on wheels.

When he’s not at the workbench, John enjoys unwinding in his garden – especially on long summer evenings when the Sheffield sun puts in an appearance.

Steve – Campervan Fitter

Steve is one of our solid all-rounders in the workshop. A campervan fitter through and through, he makes sure every job is done to the highest standard, from fitting furniture to wiring and finishing.

His steady hands and years of practical know-how are a big part of what keeps our build process running smoothly.

Mark – Campervan Fitter

Mark Whinfrey had already built his own VW camper before he joined Orange Campers, so he came with passion and experience ready to go. His love of campervans shines through in the quality of his work, whether he’s handling a tricky fit or adding the finishing touches.

Outside of Orange, Mark’s a motorsport enthusiast, with a real interest in drifting – so it’s no surprise he’s got a sharp eye for both performance and detail.

Jordan – Campervan Fitter

Yes, we’ve got two Jordans on the team! This Jordan is a big fan of camping and spends most weekends away in his self-built yellow van. He knows first-hand how important it is for a camper to be practical, reliable, and fun to use.

When he’s not on the road, you’ll likely find him bouncing on a trampoline, hanging out with his French Bulldog, Beau, or tucking into Wagamama’s – his go-to favourite food.

Gavin – Bench Joiner

Gavin is one of our main furniture builders and a master craftsman when it comes to woodwork. With a sharp eye for detail, he takes real pride in making sure every piece of furniture is as functional as it is good-looking.

Gavin says: “It’s the attention to detail that everyone looks at and says, look, yeah, we’re proud of that. It’s our own personal touches – it makes a big difference.”

When he’s not in the workshop, Gav enjoys weekends fishing or relaxing at his caravan in Skegness. He’s kept company by his Dalmatian, Bruno – and reckons nothing beats a good steak.

Alicia – Graphic Designer

Alicia keeps our shows and website looking sharp, designing everything from display boards to online graphics.

She’s another campervan enthusiast too, often using her own van for Scout camps and UK travels.

Jack the dog – Morale Booster

Last but by no means least… Jack the dog. Our four-legged team member never fails to put a smile on our faces.

He’s the official Orange Campers morale booster and a favourite with customers who drop by the workshop.

The Orange Family difference

Every single Trouvaille campervan is built in-house by this dedicated team, who bring not only skill and craftsmanship but also real pride and passion to their work.

When you choose an Orange Camper, you’re not just buying a van – you’re joining the Orange Family. And we can’t wait to welcome you on board.

Want to meet us in person? Book a visit to our Rotherham workshop for a proper look ‘round and a chat, or come along to one of our Open Days where you can see all our demo vans and meet the team.
