If you’ve ever wondered what goes on behind the big orange doors here at Orange Campers HQ, our campervan workshop tours are the perfect way to find out.
Whether you’re dreaming of your first van, narrowing down your options, or just curious to see how our campervans are made, you’ll get a proper behind-the-scenes experience and a warm Northern welcome while you’re here.
Booking your visit
It couldn’t be easier to book a tour. Just head to our website, choose a date and time from our online calendar, and we’ll do the rest.
Each slot usually lasts about an hour – though we often end up chatting for longer!
Before your visit, you’ll fill out a short form so we can prepare the vans and materials that suit your requirements and budget. That way, everything’s ready for you to see as soon as you arrive.
A warm Orange Campers welcome
When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by Richard (our founder and main man), or sometimes by Sonya or Jess – and always by Jack, our resident four-legged host! He’s guaranteed to make you feel right at home with his cheerful doggy greetings and wagging tail 🥰
We’ll get the kettle on and hand you an Orange Campers mug of tea while you settle into our brand-new welcome area – a cosy space overlooking the production floor.
Need to fit a bit of work in while you’re here? No problem.
We’ve got a handy workstation where you can plug in your laptop and soak up the atmosphere of the workshop without having to step onto the shop floor.
Let’s talk campervans
Once you’re comfy, Richard will chat through your plans and what you’re looking for.
He’ll have your pre-visit form and brochure ready, so you can dive straight into the fun part – exploring your campervan options.
You might start by looking at the model you had in mind – maybe a Medium Wheelbase Pop Top or a High Roof – but most visitors end up comparing a few.
You’re welcome to take a peek inside the Micro Camper, too. It’s always useful to see the different layouts and get a feel for which one fits your lifestyle best.

Next, we'll take you through to our production area – the heart of Orange Campers.
Here’s where you’ll see exactly how our 'vans are built, meet the talented team behind them, and discover what makes our builds so special.
You might spot Marc, our production manager, keeping everything running smoothly, and the rest of our brilliant crew hard at work fitting furniture, wiring electrics, or installing pop tops. We’re incredibly proud of our clean, well-organised workspace and the craftsmanship that goes into every 'van.
This part of the visit is where it all clicks – you’ll see the care, skill, and teamwork that transform a base van into a fully fitted home on wheels.
Try before you buy
Fancy getting behind the wheel? You can even take one of the vans for a test drive near our Rotherham workshop. It’s the best way to get a real feel for the drive quality and layout before making any decisions.
Back at HQ, you can explore interior samples, finishes, and extras in person. From upholstery fabrics to wood grains and worktops, seeing everything up close makes choosing your dream spec that bit easier.
Jess can also run up a quote while you’re here – so you’ll leave knowing exactly what your campervan will cost and what fits your budget.
And if you’re ready to take the plunge, you can even place your £5,000 deposit right there in the welcome area.

With show season over and our next open day a little while off, it’s a great time to book your campervan workshop visit.
You’ll get plenty of one-to-one time with Richard, a relaxed tour with no rush, and even a free Orange Campers umbrella (worth £40) to take home as a thank you.
